	Botanical name Drepanostachyum falcatum. Origin The Himalayas. Characteristics Blue bamboo grows fairly upright, to about 4 m. high with long narrow leaves on arching culms. Use A non-invasive bamboo that makes a wonderful garden feature or privacy screen. Requirements Don't plant it in constant full sun as it prefers light shade for most of the day.

A truly beautiful container plant, suitable for indoors provided it receives good light.

Bamboo flowers only rarely, around once in 100 years. After bamboo flowers it dies.
Blue Bamboo flowered in 1998 / 89. We carefully collected all the seed. However, only about 5% was viable. We are now offering vigorous plants grown from that seed.
